1. Must be at least 16 years of age or older
2. Perspective members must live in Riverdale or within the bordering towns.
(Pompton Lakes, Bloomingdale, Butler, Kinnelon, Pequannock, & Haskell)
1. Application to be received and completed in it's entirety.
2. Applicant completes physical exam by borough medical provider
3. Applicant returns completed application to Chief of Department.
After Acceptance of Application
4. Application processed by the Borough of Riverdale.
5. Drug Screening
6. Fingerprint and Background Check
7. NJ State Firemen’s Association approval and issuance of line number.
8. Registration for Firefighter 1 course, by the Department.

1st Monday - Drill Night (7pm)

The Firefighter-1 Course is an approximately 180 hour course, of both classroom and hands-on training. The candidate must successfully complete the Firefighter-1 course within one year of their acceptance into department.
